James’ Place
Conveniently located adjacent to main theaters of the La Jolla Playhouse, James’ Place beckons diners with lantern lighting that illuminates the interior through glass walls. The architecture is modern and minimal, and the packed restaurant’s high decibel level is testament to buoyant conversation. A visually enticing full bar provides spirit-elevating fuel. Appetizers and sushi bar items are dazzling. The night we dined, the beef tenderloin filet entree was perfectly tender, and was accompanied by mashed potatoes, asparagus, carrots, and sugar peas, all beautifully prepared and presented. The mushroom soup was outstanding. Other diners highly recommended the Kobe burger.
