California Surf Museum Gala 2017
The California Surf Museum held its 10th Annual Gala Fundraiser at Carlsbad’s Cape Rey Resort. Legendary Pipeline master Gerry Lopez, one of the most iconic surfers in history, and Jericho Poppler, surfing champion and advocate for women’s surfing, were this year’s guests of honor. Fernando Aguerre, president of the International Surfing Association, was also honored for his contribution to bringing surfing into the Olympics. A special set of collector Pipeline surfboards were auctioned off, shaped specifically for the event in tribute to Lopez by some of the world’s most prestigious shapers.
