The Salk Institute presented the inaugural Salk Women & Science Design and Discovery Fashion Showcase at the Institute. The event provided a platform to communicate basic scientific research in the form of fashion design through a collaboration between Salk researchers and aspiring designers from San Diego Mesa College’s design program. Proceeds benefited the Salk Women & Science Special Awards Initiative, which provides awards to female scientists conducting high-risk research projects.
