A New Fossil
Smart watches are everywhere, and now even designer watch companies are getting in on the trend. Fossil’s new Q Founder just debuted, running the latest Android OS off an Intel Atom processor, a shift from the Qualcomm processors used in most other watches. It boasts 1GB of RAM, 4 gigs of storage, 24 hours of battery life, and has a 240ppi display. Add to that an accelerometer, gyroscope, and ambient light sensor. But what sets Fossil apart from a lot of the rest is its licensing deals with Adidas, Burberry, DKNY, Michael Kors, Armani, and the like, meaning these are smart watches for the fashion-minded. They are even selling a stripped-down version called the Q Grant, which doesn’t run Android at all, but merely offers a notification function.
