Broadway San Diego
As last November’s Beauty and the Beast audiences can attest, there is a terrific season ahead at Broadway San Diego. (Beauty was the first of the 2015-16 extra-season shows.) More extras ahead this month are Jerry Seinfeld (Jan. 15), Riverdance (Jan. 19-21), and A Prairie Home Companion (Jan. 23). Another in February is the mega-hit The Book of Mormon, and more are sprinkled in March and May. The spectacular four-show core season consists of If/Then, starring Idina Menzel of Frozen fame; The Wizard of Oz, with new songs by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber; Disney’s Newsies, a rousing musical that was a triumph on Broadway; and the altogether pleasing Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. 888.937.8995, broadwaysd.com
