British Modern
Feb. 10-May 19, 2017
The pristine Hoehn Family Galleries on the beautiful University of San Diego campus has developed a loyal following among art enthusiasts. This current show is an ambitious one, titled British Modern from the British Museum: From the Great War to the Grosvenor School. It spotlights 60 works by British modernism artists, examining the influence of art from the time of the First World War and, particularly, the movements of Vorticism and the Grosvenor School. As a result, viewers come to understand how those movements played out in avant-garde work in the United Kingdom and abroad. 619.260.7516, sandiego.edu/galleries/exhibitions/hoehn-family-galleries Darlene G.
